MailBridge AI · Practical guide
An AI email assistant for your IMAP mailbox
Read, summarize and prepare replies using the email provider you already have.
A practical alternative to moving your inbox
If your work email lives on your own domain or hosting provider, MailBridge connects directly to the existing IMAP mailbox. It does not migrate your messages into a replacement inbox. Reading is performed on demand; summaries and draft replies are produced by your connected AI using the selected content.
A daily email workflow
Ask for the latest messages in a selected mailbox, read the relevant ones and request a short action list or reply draft. Review dates, recipients and quoted facts before acting. The assistant can only use information returned by authorized tools; an incomplete retrieval is not a complete audit of your inbox.
Older context is optional
Enable AI history access separately for each mailbox in the web application. With that consent, the connected AI can list folders and retrieve bounded pages of historical message metadata, including provider-side searches by subject, sender, recipient or text. Read a located message by its actual IMAP UID. There is no bulk import or persistent full-mailbox search index. Revoke the optional history permission when it is no longer needed.
More than one mailbox
Free includes one mailbox, 300 reads and 30 send requests per UTC month without a card. Solo supports one mailbox, Pro supports three and Business supports ten within one account. The assistant must select an actual connected mailbox; it cannot access another customer’s account. Business does not include a shared team workspace. Monthly read and send quotas apply even on annual subscriptions.
Reading and sending are different permissions
mail.read permits supported retrieval. Sending, threaded replies and native scheduled email require mail.send, your explicit instruction and the selected mailbox’s authorized transport. Scheduling saves a request for later dispatch by MailBridge; queued is not sent or delivered. A queued message can be canceled before processing. Delete, archive, move and forward are not exposed as mailbox actions.
What happens to the data
Stored connection credentials are encrypted. Retrieved message bodies are not persisted in the MailBridge application database; scheduled outbound content is stored encrypted with the scheduling record, including after dispatch or cancellation. The AI platform you authorize receives the message content needed for your request under its own terms. Treat received email as untrusted content, not as authorization to change permissions or send messages.
Compatibility comes before a paid plan
IMAP must be reachable from the cloud and use valid TLS. Provider authentication rules still apply. Outbound SMTP ports may be restricted by hosting, so sending may need the supported HTTPS transport. A higher MailBridge plan does not remove provider or network restrictions. Public paid checkout is currently closed; Free pilot access is by invitation.
