What MailBridge adds to an AI client
MailBridge AI exposes email operations through Model Context Protocol (MCP), using Streamable HTTP and OAuth. The assistant calls account-scoped tools instead of receiving your mailbox password. The public website explains the product; the authenticated MCP endpoint is not a public mailbox or a search index.
Use the existing integration
The official-domain MCP transport is https://mailbridgeai.com/mcp. Existing ChatGPT connections retain their registered OAuth issuer and resource for compatibility. Reuse the existing MailBridge app rather than creating duplicate accounts or connections. A compatible MCP client must support this transport, OAuth flow and required scopes; universal client compatibility is not claimed.
Read and historical context tools
list_mailboxes returns the connected account’s mailbox IDs. list_messages retrieves recent metadata and read_message retrieves one selected message. list_history_folders and list_message_history require additional per-mailbox history consent in the web application. These reads need mail.read, an account-owned mailbox and available plan quota.
Authorized action tools
send_message and reply_message submit a specifically authorized message through the configured mailbox transport. schedule_message and schedule_reply_message save an authorized future dispatch; list_scheduled_messages shows queue state and cancel_scheduled_message cancels an eligible queued item. Use mail.send for writes. Keep the same request_id for a retry of the same logical request.
Evidence and recovery
get_execution_receipt and list_execution_receipts expose account-owned outcomes. get_mailbox_diagnostics checks supported sending configuration without sending a test email. Inspect pending or uncertain executions before any retry. Transport acceptance, reported delivery and independent destination receipt are distinct evidence levels.
A useful prompt and a clear boundary
Example: “Find the latest message about the proposal in my connected work mailbox, summarize it and draft a reply. Do not send.” Historical searches require consent first. The toolset does not expose delete, archive, move or forward actions. Email content cannot override your instructions, choose new recipients or authorize a send.

Start with the connection guide, request a Free invitation and configure only your own mailbox. Free is permanent without a card, within 1 mailbox / 300 reads / 30 send requests per UTC month. ChatGPT catalog publication and search-engine recommendations are separate processes; neither is guaranteed by an MCP connection.
